About the instructor

Dr. Anthony Ekpo is a Consultant Statistician. He holds an OND in Statistics from the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, a B.Sc. Statistics degree from the University of Uyo, Nigeria, an M.Sc. Statistics degree (Experimental Designs) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, another M.Sc. Statistics degree (Biostatistics) from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and a Ph.D. in Statistics also from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. His area of research is Optimal Experimental Designs and Biostatistics with special interest in Optimality of designs and Nutrition/Mortality Surveys using SMART Methodology.

He is an active member of the Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC)-Technical Alliance Consultants, coordinated by UNICEF and Action Against Hunger (AAH), Canada. He possesses remarkable field experiences; having consulted for reputable International Organizations such as: International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), Research Triangle International (RTI), INTERSOS Humanitarian Aids Organization, Save the Children International (SCI), Première Urgence Internationale (PUI), Center for Clinical Care and Clinical Research Nigeria (CCCRN), Maestral International LLC, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA and
a FUAM-LISA Co-investigator for the University of Colorado Boulder, USA/USAID funded PHL Survey.

Dr. Ekpo has over 10 years’ experience conducting Nutrition/Mortality surveys using the SMART Methodology. He is a member of the Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA), Professional Statisticians Society of Nigeria (PSSN), a Regular member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and an arm member of the International Association of Statistical Computing (IASC). He is the Treasurer and North-Central Nigeria Coordinator of IASC-African Members’ Group. Presently, he is a member of Faculty in the Department of Statistics, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria. He is happily married with three lovely children.

Dr. Adenomon Monday Osagie is an Associate Professor of Statistics with specialization in Econometrics and Financial time series in the department of Statistics, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nigeria.

Dr Adenomon is an Elected member of the ISI.

About the instructor

Timothy, a statistician by training, is a product of the prestigious University of Ilorin, Nigeria, specializing in Quantitative Modelling, Computational Statistics, Econometrics, Psychometrics and Morphometrics with much interest in Biostatistics, Designs of Experiment, and Data Science. He is well-grounded in Statistics and Mathematics. Timothy is an R language expert with a sound knowledge of SQL and Python programming languages. He has his first and second degrees in Statistics from University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He was, however, trained by the Department of Computing of Macquarie University, the City of Sydney, Australia, where he has been officially certified as R and Python Programmer in the field of Data Science. In the years back, he started his higher educational pursuits from the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Nigeria, where he efficiently earned both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates in Statistics. He is currently the Secretary-General, International Association for Statistical Computing, African Members Group (IASC-AMG). He has at least 16 years of series of rich experiences that cut across both industries and academia. He has published quite a number of academic papers both locally and internationally. He is a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) expert and a tutor per excellence!. Timothy is the coordinator, Osun R User Group ( OSUN RUG), Nigeria and co-founder, Tim-R Programming Consult, Nigeria ( www.tim-rprogramming.com ) – both are non-profit, non-governmental organizations. He learns very fast and assimilates quickly. Presently, he is an academic staff at the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, College of Science, Engineering and Technology, Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria.
