Since 1887, the ISI has been organizing the World Statistics Congress every two years, with scientific sessions at the heart of the agenda, as well as a social program that allows delegates to network.

Invited Paper Sessions (IPS) from senior delegates, Contributed Paper Sessions (CPS) from senior and medior delegates, and Posters from junior and medior delegates comprise the scientific sessions.

The Special Invited Paper Sessions (SIPS) are Invited Paper Sessions given by renowned statisticians and data scientists at the invitation of the ISI and are classified as IPSs.

Following the congress, the abstracts of the speakers are collected and published in the World Statistics Congress' Proceedings.
