The International Statistical Institute offers members and statistical professionals access to current and upcoming events, courses and webinars, alongside a curated library of past content, to support continuous learning and professional growth. Most activities are organised and hosted by ISI associations, committees and partners, with additional regional webinars and ISI Academy webinars hosted by the ISI.

Training

The ISI Academy designs and delivers the courses to strengthen professional skills in statistics and data science. Bringing together expertise from across the ISI network and its Associations, the ISI Academy provides high-quality learning opportunities tailored to evolving global needs.

Trainings are developed to support capacity development at international, regional, and national levels.

The ISI Academy’s courses aim to:

Sharon Lohr

Sharon Lohr has published widely about survey sampling, design of experiments, and statistical methods for education, public policy, law, and crime. She is the author of numerous articles in statistics journals and of the books Sampling: Design and Analysis, now in its third edition, and Measuring Crime: Behind the Statistics. Formerly Dean’s Distinguished Professor of Statistics at Arizona State University and a Vice President at Westat, she is now Professor Emerita at Arizona State University and a statistical consultant and writer.
