SJIAOS September 2025 Issue: Now Available!

09 September 2024
The June 2024 issue of the SJIAOS

The September issue of the SJIAOS has just been released.

Here’s what you can find:

  • The editorial sets the scene with a provoking discussion on the current challenges in communicating statistics. These include the need for NSOs to adapt their communications strategies to ensure that their statistics are accessible and engaging for the general public, and on the other side, adhering to the ethical commitment of official statistics to transparency, including to communicating statistical uncertainty, within a context of growing mistrust towards public institutions and deliberate efforts to undermine scientific credibility.
  • Complementing this is an exclusive conversation with Paul Schreyer, former Chief Statistician at the OECD, on the importance of data governance and the collaboration with other international organisations for the advancement of new statistical frameworks, such as the upcoming 2025 revision of the SNA.
  • This issue also features a special section of papers on the value of official statistics, exploring their key function in a democratic society, and beyond, as well as a range of papers on innovative methods and other insights in official statistics.
