Drawing from his extensive experience, he will highlight the importance of addressing identity-based inequalities to construct effective strategies for promoting equity.
- Biography: Dr. Estep is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair and a distinguished professor with expertise in uncertainty quantification and stochastic modeling.
Denise Silva: "Gender statistics: substantive evidence to accomplish the equality challenges"
- Abstract: Denise Silva, a retired Principal Researcher from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), will emphasize the significance of gender statistics in addressing inequalities. She will provide insights into the importance of high-quality gender statistics for informed decision-making and policy formulation.
- Biography: Dr. Silva, with over 35 years of experience in survey methodology, has served as president of the International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS) and is currently a Senior Associate Researcher at the Society for the Development of Scientific Research (SCIENCE).
