Mike Hidiroglou

Michel Arsène (Mike) Hidiroglou has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Waksberg Award, recognizing his nearly 40 years of contributions to survey methodology at Statistics Canada, the national statistical office of Canada. Mike Hidiroglou received the B.Sc. degree (1969) and the M.Sc. degree (1970) in Mathematics and Statistics from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, and the Ph.D. degree in Statistics (1974) from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA. Mike joined Statistics Canada in 1974 as a survey methodologist, a role he held until 2003.

Peter Lynn

Peter Lynn is Professor of Survey Methodology at the University of Essex, UK. He has worked in the field of sample surveys for 38 years and his research focuses on survey sampling and data collection methods. He has authored 78 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 35 book chapters and 5 edited volumes, including the Wiley books “Methodology of Longitudinal Surveys” (2009) and “Advances in Longitudinal Survey Methods” (2021).
