The Nederlandsche Bank and the BIS’s Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics (IFC) invite researchers and experts to submit papers for the Satellite Seminar on “Sustainability Data Issues and Central Banks’ Experience”. This in-person seminar will be held on Saturday, 4 October, 2025, in Amsterdam, preceding the 65th World Statistics Congress (WSC) of the International Statistical Institute, scheduled from 5-9 October, 2025.
Topics of Interest:
Submissions are welcome on topics including, but not limited to:
- Central banks’ use of environmental data in activities like financial stability, monetary policy, and asset/reserve management
- Measuring the “carbon content” of economic activities
- ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) aspects relevant to global economic developments, with a focus on foreign direct investment (FDI)
- Social, governance, and biodiversity data in central bank policy-making
- Enhancing global statistical infrastructure for improved ESG data usage
- Development of forward-looking indicators and data infrastructure for policy applications
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts for papers or presentations (preferably in PDF format) should be submitted by 30 April, 2025, to both [email protected] and [email protected]. Authors of accepted papers will be notified no later than the end of June 2025.
