25 November 2025
IAOS BANNER

The International Association for Official Statistics is delighted to announce the opening of submissions for the 2026 IAOS Young Statisticians Prize. This prestigious international award recognises the best paper in the field of official statistics authored by a young statistician, and continues the IAOS commitment to fostering innovation, fresh perspectives, and academic excellence within the global statistical community.

The first-place winner(s) will not only receive a monetary award, but will also be granted travel support to present their paper at an international conference, offering a valuable opportunity for visibility, networking, and global recognition.

Applicants are encouraged to submit original papers addressing critical methodological or strategic challenges in official statistics at the regional, national, or international level. Papers should:

  • Present clear, impactful research or proposals;
  • Be written in English;
  • Not exceed 4,000 words; and
  • Not have been previously published or presented publicly.

Submissions are open until 10 April 2026, and we encourage eligible statisticians from around the world to participate and share their research contributions.

For full details on eligibility, submission guidelines, and previous winning papers, please visit the IAOS Young Statisticians Prize page.
