The Pre-Meeting for Young Researchers of the BS-IMS World Congress 2024 was held from 10–11 August in Essen, bringing together over 90 PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from the fields of statistics, probability, and data science. Highlights included lectures by renowned academics Emmanuel Candès, Remco van der Hofstad, and Susan Murphy, as well as a career day featuring panels and workshops. Generous funding enabled 8 scholarships for researchers from low-income countries and provided accommodation for over 50 participants.
