Computational and Applied Statistics for Data & AI 2026 (CAS 2026) is a workshop of the 26th International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications (ICCSA 2026). The conference will take place from 30 June to 3 July 2026 in Braga, Portugal.
The CAS workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working in computational statistics, scientific computing, machine learning, image analysis, and artificial intelligence, with applications across a wide range of disciplines, including the natural sciences, engineering, industry, economics, life sciences, and social sciences.
Contributions are invited on topics including, but not limited to:
- Computational Statistics
New developments in computational algorithms for statistical methods; machine learning implementations; and software development in environments such as R and Python. - Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition
Deep and machine learning methods for image and video data; computer vision applications in medical imaging, remote sensing, industry, and smart cities; image segmentation, classification, anomaly detection, feature extraction; and multimodal data fusion. - Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning; deep learning architectures and training strategies; AI-based statistical modelling and hybrid AI–statistics approaches; explainable and interpretable AI; and trustworthy AI. - Applications
Case studies demonstrating innovative applications of statistics, machine learning, image analysis, or artificial intelligence in sciences, engineering, industry, economics, medicine, biology, earth sciences, and social sciences.
