Latin America and Caribbean Outreach Committee

Purpose

The ISI Latin American and the Caribbean Outreach Committee aims at establishing a constructive environment to foster networks, develop activities, and strengthen partnerships within the LAC statistical and data science communities, promoting the ISI and its values in the region.

Goals

• Identify the potential members from the countries in the region with which the committee can cooperate closely. 
• Liaise with national statistical societies, organisations and national statistical offices to develop regional activities and promote the ISI. 
• Interact with the regional subsections of ISI Associations.
• Cooperate with the ISI Special Interest Groups to support their actions in the region. 
• Encourage local organisation of informal and scientific meetings, including regional conferences and capacity building events.
• Stimulate the ISI regular membership in the region.
• Identify potential candidates to be elected ISI members. 
• Encourage participation in the ISI regional activities.
• Promote engagement with ISI activities and social media.
