In partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the ISI Academy is developing a comprehensive training programme to strengthen quality assurance in official statistics.
Aligned with FAO’s Statistics and Data Quality Assurance Framework (SDQAF), the initiative supports consistent standards and enhanced data quality across FAO’s statistical activities. The programme is designed for FAO staff engaged in statistical production and data management.
Objectives
The project aims to:
- Strengthen awareness of FAO’s quality assurance infrastructure
- Promote consistent interpretation and application of FAO statistical standards
- Support the professional development of FAO staff engaged in statistical work
Training programme structure
The training package consists of seven modular components covering the full statistical production and dissemination lifecycle, including:
- Quality principles for data collection and acquisition
- Data processing and validation practices
- Standards for data dissemination and microdata
- Quality assurance in data visualisation
- User consultation practices
The modules are designed to be delivered both as a comprehensive course and as standalone sessions.
