The Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and The Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics (IFC) will host an IFC–DNB Satellite Seminar focusing on central banks’ experiences in the collection and use of sustainability data, held in conjunction with the 65th World Statistics Congress of the International Statistical Institute from 5‐9 October 2025.

This event will take place in person in Amsterdam, Saturday 4 October 2025. The seminar will take a comprehensive perspective on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics, with particular attention to the analytical value of sustainability information, the methodologies and tools required to harness its potential, and the challenges associated with its compilation and application.

The seminar will convene central bank economists, statisticians, and other experts with an interest in statistical issues of relevance to central banking. It will provide a unique forum for the exchange of knowledge and practices, enabling participants to learn from each other’s experiences and to discuss future directions for the integration of sustainability data into central bank analysis. In doing so, the seminar builds on prior initiatives while underscoring the increasing importance of ESG information as a key input for evidence-based decision-making in the central banking community.
