Congratulations to the 2026 TIES Abdel El-Shaarawi Early Investigator (AEEI) award winner, Dr. Paola Crippa (Assistant Professor), Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA.
Paola receives the award:

For outstanding contributions to environmental statistics through innovative integration of statistical methodology with atmospheric and environmental sciences; for impactful interdisciplinary work addressing air quality, climate processes, and environmental health; and for her contributions to the environmetrics community and advancement of data-driven environmental research.’

Dr. Crippa will be presenting on her work and will receive her award plaque at our upcoming joint conference in Mexico City.

Through collaboration across computational statistics, data science, and environmental disciplines, we strive to foster a deep understanding of ecological systems, human impact, equitable, and explainable solutions.

Event goals:
• To provide an opportunity for sharing knowledge, collective learning, and collaboration between researchers and practitioners in academia, government, industry, for addressing current and future problems, issues, and policies in environmental statistics, data science, and computing.
• Encourage membership recruitment, volunteer participation of students and early-career individuals in committees, current/future activities of the organizing societies.
